One of the most stunning Standard Gauge locomotive sets to ever grace a pike first appeared in 1927 from American Flyerr. Featuring a twelve-wheel electric locomotive and four matching passenger cars, the original Mayflower set was based on the President's Special set first cataloged in 1926. Unlike the President's Set from the year before, the Mayflower was produced with an all-chrome finish that added to the already rich detail and design of the engine and cars. This extremely limited version of the Mayflower has been included in M.T.H.'s 2004 Tinplate Tradition's lineup with a contemporary version that provides stellar performance to go along with its great looks. As with the original, the set features an 19 1/2 inch long locomotive modeled after the New York Central's P2 Box Cab Electric and features a big American Eagle on its front porch. The four matching passenger cars, each measuring 21 inches long, utilize a total of 12 interior lamps and feature brightly polished plating on their six-wheel trucks.
