Original Proto-Smoke Unit Troubleshooting

No smoke and Fan Not Operating - Verify power in at AGC and AC terminals on the board.
Check the rectifier BR1, DF04 1 amp Bridge Rectifier for DC output.

No Smoke - Perform checks listed above. Check continuity of each heating element,
resistance is 16 ohms each. Replace as necessary. Inspect the wick, replace any charred
or burnt wick. If there is power in, good wick, and continuity on the heating elements;
check the smoke control circuit components Q1 & Q2. One heating element works at
8Volts and the second heating element comes on around 10 12Volts. Replace Q1
(2SA1266PNP transistor) and Q2 (2SB772PN transistor) if there is no power to heating
elements and the rectifier BR1 is good.

Limited Smoke - Inspect the wick, replace any charred or burnt wick. Check continuity of
each heating element and the smoke control circuit under No Smoke.

No Fan Motor Operation - Check fan motor with DC power such as a 9V battery. If fan
motor is good, check motor control circuit, verify capacity at C1 (330uF 35V electrolytic) is
present on the board and not blown. If C1 is good, replace IC1, LM78L05 regulator.
